I feel that it is important to explain basic underlying theory behind science and math, as well as presenting these topics in a step by step, logical manner. I feel it is important to teach methods for how to obtain a solution and not rely on rot memorization of facts and equations.

Math teachers are notorious for being vague or teaching solely from text. I believe understanding mathematics does not necessarily make you fit to teach it. I have had great success adapting to a student's language and using analogies to make math come to life. This particular position interests me because I struggled with math through middle school and understand the frustration it can create for a student.
