My comments on tutoring Testing Strategies : Testing should not be stressful. I love to help students learn how to navigate tricky questions, eliminate answers, and make educated guesses.

I have been a teacher for 7 years. I have taught in a small-town private, Christian two-room schoolhouse (K-8); I currently substitute teach for OPS, and have been to all but one school in the district. I have also tutored on and off over the years, both individually and in small groups, both privately and through school district or companies. I enjoy working with students in a smaller setting, especially one or two at a time, and helping them understand concepts and thus succeed in their schoolwork.
The process is just as important as the product. If a student can come up with the correct answer, but he or she has no idea how or why it is correct or how they got it, I feel like their learning is incomplete. Coming from a family of academicians, and a father who has a doctorate in education, I learned to love learning at an early age and have always valued education and try to instill that in others. I am proficient in many areas and work well with all people from all walks of life, at varying levels. My experience comes from being in a helping profession, in which I assisted hundreds of people live up to and achieve their highest potential. Having three children of my own with varying learning styles, as w well as working with other children and adults, enhanced my my ability to understand individuals and how they learn.
