My passion for education and learning translates very well to students/adults whom I educate on a subject. I am an empathetic person by nature and this allows me to put myself in the students shoes and think like them, regarding what their learning curve is, what method of teaching they are most reciprocative to and are they understanding or not ? I am very patient and strive very hard to ensure students are "learning" - not just studying to get a good score. Once in a classroom I realized that I was meant to teach. I love working with students who are challenging and those who challenge me. I believe that I can become a better teacher only by continually challenging myself and my students. The key phrase “engaging students” seems less than what is required in the classroom. I want my students to be engaged but I want them to encompass and enjoy what they are doing as well. I love technology and new method topics; I have a very strong math and science background as well as excellent written and verbal presentation skills. I was a hands on learner and often use hands on methods to teach when possible. I have taught every level from kindergarten to college level and feel comfortable doing so.
