My language learning career began in middle school when I chose to study Spanish. having enjoyed the language so much, I continued all throughout high school and eventually chose to continue my Spanish learning in college. I chose to study Spanish and Secondary Education. during my undergraduate work, I was recommended for tutoring Spanish at the beginning and intermediate levels. I continued that work for my sophomore and junior years. During my time in college, I was fortunate enough to have the ability to study abroad for a semester in Granada, Spain. I teach to my students so they can learn. Each of my students has a different modality of acquiring and retaining information, so I assess that style and present instruction in a way that is meaningful. My work towards a master's degree in special education highlighted the various ways in which a student gains knowledge. I use that information to engage and educate my students.

I enjoy showing others the world that opens up through the ability of speaking another language. And it is with that knowledge that they drive themselves towards excellence. Once the goal is understood, we can explore the development of the language, and understand how the language is also another way of seeing the world.
While challenges with Spanish is high school, I sought a fuller understanding of the language as I entered college.
