I don't have a "one size fits all" approach to teaching; rather, I try to tailor my approach to the learning style of the student. I believe that each and every student has the potential to learn whatever subject matter is being investigated. My math teaching style relies heavily on problem solving and repetition. I believe that a huge part of the learning process involves gaining confidence, so I work very hard in that area.
I have degrees in civil engineering and have been in the workforce for 17 years. This has given me a great background in math and science. I am a second year UW Madison student pursuing a math degree. I have completed Calculus 1, Calculus 222, Calculus 234, Calculus 3 based engineering statistics, and Actuarial Science (a class designed to prepare actuarial students for the P exam). Next semester I will take Linear Algebra and the Basic Concepts of Math.
