My comments on tutoring Test Preparation : I have tutored students for GED, OGT and ACt tests. I have worked with several Non-Profit organizations in NE Ohio to help students with the GED, OGT and ACT tests. I wrote an interactive math education software program to help students with the GED, OGT and ACT tests.

Punctual - prepared and professional. I look at learning rep. styles of students (pictorial, word or kinesthehic). I try to make the learning experience as painless as possible (especially math). I start with pre-tests to gauge where a student is at, then follow-up with teaching content and finish with a post-test to gauge learing objectives that have been met. Depending on the subject, I like to schedule 2-2.5 hrs ateach session. I also like to work out problems for students and e-mail them the results, where applicable.

My comments on tutoring Test Preparation : Study Skills are easy to incorporate within any learning time.

Students learn in a positive learning environment. Everyone is unique thus everyone has unique learning styles. I focus on the positives each student has achieved and then, together the student and I strengthen the areas that need improvements. For example, there has been a recent emphasis on time test for all math operations. Personally, I believe this is testing the student test taking skills more than their math ability. I believe this can cause test anxiety issues. As a substitute teacher, I have reviewed the results of students’ test and made custom flashcards for the few math facts they need to memorize. I put them in an envelope for them with a note to memorize one or two at a time. I suggest placing one at their placemat and the other math flashcard where brush their teeth.
