I search for the light bulb that hasn't yet gone off in my students. Rote memorization by my students just to get a grade doesn't satisfy me, although that happens with some. I thoroughly enjoy the intellectual challenge of trying to stimulate my students and interest them in the learning process. I probe; I question; I challenge; I confront. If the student doesn't "get it", then my first assumption is that I'm not doing something right, and I need to try again. I may fail, but not for lack of trying or interest! I have extensive experience in all areas of corporate accounting and financial and cost analysis as a management consultant and line manager. While earning my masters, I began teaching as an avocation, and found that I thoroughly enjoyed the didactic experience. Subsequently, I taught at the community, technical, and junior college levels, as well as the university level.
