After I earned my BFA, I started working towards my Master of Art in Art History. I have an understanding of most studio art forms and extensive knowledge of Art History. When I started working on my thesis, I joined the Minnesota Reading Corps, and have been teaching early literacy ever since. I tend to teach things in a visual way. Drawing pictures, diagrams and using visual aides are the best ways I have witnessed to teach kids. I also think a structured reward system is HUGE in motivating kids to succeed. You need to find out what motivates your kid (money, toys, etc) and set up a system where he/she can earn these rewards through academic success.
I am currently a medical student at the University of Minnesota Medical School Duluth. Before I started medical school I worked as a tutor for six years with two teenage boys with autism. Under the six years of my tutoring, both of these "disabled" kids were completely mainstreamed and even taking some AP and challenge classes. A Little Bit About Me...

As an undergraduate student I worked at a general science and math tutor as well as a class specific calculus I tutor. I was teaching assistant for calculus I for two semesters and ran a study table for the athletic department for student with a GPA less than 2.5. As a graduate student I have taught both majors and non-majors biochemistry lab as well as general chemistry lab and discussion. I have had the opportunity to lecture, write quizzes, tests, and homework for college level courses as well as grade all course material.
