A Little Bit About Me...

As an Application Engineer for a research company, it was my resposaability to train, instruct and give seminars on the material currently in vogue in Semiconductor, Biology, Physics, and Geology in materials to be analyzed. These seminars were meant to instruct and inform researchers of the techniques available. Most seminars were at colleges and universities in the U.S. and overseas. I began to wind down my travels and explored the potential of teaching locally. For the past three years I have been a substitute teacher in Tuolumne County district as well as 4 seminars every year.
I had no intention of teaching when I started my career in Psychology and the Analytical Chemistry industry. Because each student, young or old, responds to different learning stimuli (graphical or verbal) at diffrent rates, I always try to get to know my student first. I then try to tailor my tutoring to how they respond best and retain what they've learned. I believe in repetition and using examples that a student can relate to, and then testing the student's understanding of the subject matter.
