Since graduating from Eastern Oregon University, a college known for its education programs, I have dedicated most of my adult life to teaching. I have a BS degree in secondary education with endorsements in advanced mathematics and health education. I have taught students in various settings throughout my career and have become able to adapt to different learning environments. I have taught students in grades 7 through 12 as well as adult learners preparing to earn a GED certificate. I remember my first tutor in junior high. He helped me gain an understanding beyond just the numbers and the formulas. From his example, I started tutoring friends as a sophomore in high school. I enjoy helping others see beyond the numbers, in understanding the basics, and seeing how everything fits together. As a student who graduated with honors from Sonoma State University in December of 2009, I was driven to achieve the highest level of excellence in education. I have earned my BA in Biology, and have taken 21 units of Chemistry, and 12 units of Math. I have also gained many hours of experience using Word, PowerPoint, and Excel, while writing research papers, laboratory reports, and essays.
