I am very patient. I will do whatever it takes to ensure that my clients are comfortable with me. Therefore, my teaching style really depends on the client. I teach which way will be best for my client. Before I begin teaching, I tend to ask my clients about their studying habits in order to understand the ways the best help them succeed and, also to see if there's any improvement need to be taking.

I have tutored kids at my Church whenever someone has needed help. I am very patient and understanding of how frustrating certain topics can be, so I know I am a great candidate for tutoring. I am exceptionally great with younger kids who have ADD or ADHD since I have struggled with that myself. I use an intercultural (as opposed to assimilationist) perspective, knowing that language teachers also teach culture; this is not only desirable, it is probably unavoidable. We cannot allow the material on testing instruments to dictate the entire scope of what we teach. I still find it difficult to convince many people that literacy, strictly speaking, is usually not the challenge adult ELLs face. Their challenges usually consist in expanding the English they learned in school, so that it becomes useful for academic purposes, or for basic life-skills in a new country.

I have had numerous experiences teaching over the past few years through my degree program at the University of Alabama.
