I was employed as a Writing Tutor at my university, giving me the experience necessary to know how to direct and assist peers on an individual level. To obtain this position, it was required that I show a high level of proficiency in the field, both with my major GPA and the quality of my writing portfolio. Further along this line, I graduated from Susquehanna University with both a degree in Creative Writing and considerable experience in the writing and publishing world. A Little Bit About Me...

I come from a teaching family, and continue to learn from teachers myself. I feel that because I am still eager to continue to learn new things, I can appreciate a good teacher. I myself need good teachers, and I would not provide a student with anything but that. I am a hard worker and give 110% for every job that needs to be done. While at college, I was a member of the Americorps program in which I completed over 300 hours of community service. During that service, I had roles as both a student and a teacher. I have the experience of working with all types of people and children, and sincerely enjoy working with people in a teaching setting. A Little Bit About Me...

I began working as a Water Safety Instructor when I was 16 and taught swimming to people age 3 to age 76. I worked as a Teacher's Assistant at West Virginia university and taught my own section of a one credit course required of all freshmen students while working on a BA in English with a concentration in Creative Writing. While working on my MA in English Literature with a Certificate in Folklore at George Mason university, I worked as a substitute teacher and then was hired as a full time middle school English teacher. I worked as a middle school English teacher until April 2010.
I have a passion for working individually with students to find their personal learning styles so that they can succeed and excel academically.
