I feel like I'm very much a hands-on type of instructor. I really believe that the best way to understand something is to keep practicing it and so I like to guide and help speed up this process by giving lots of examples and feedback. Having homeschooled my children (eldest is attending a top 20 public university)and volunteering extensively in the school community, I have become familiar with a wide variety of learning styles. My legal background has prepared me for tutoring in that I am able to effectively communicate with the student and present the material in a manner conducive to a learning experience(similar to explaining legalese to a lay person). Above all, I strive to ensure that the student has a true understanding of the materials, as opposed to simple memorization.
