Making Learning as fun as possible.

I’ve had many years of practice in the tutoring field dealing with the fact that my brother has a learning disability. He likes to have fun and thinks that leaning is boring, so I try to make learning as fun as possible. Then I have my student on student tutoring when the students tutor each other. I think its better that way because most students don't really pay attention to their teachers but they take it better when it comes from another student. Sometimes its better because something you understand they may not understand and when you explain it to them then may be they will understand it a little better. Basically what im saying is that some kids learn better from other kids.
I prefer to have a fun learning environment. I think you learn from hearing, seeing, and doing.

Currently a junior at the University of Memphis, I am seeking a Bachelor's degree in English. I love to write, and have always been the dictionary for people, so my concentration is in Creative Writing. I have very high marks in all my English classes, (transcripts for which available upon request) and am currently 12,000 words into my first book. I have tutored children of many ages in the past, many of whom suffered with audio/visual difficulties such as dyslexia and other reading/comprehension difficulties. Reading Comprehension is one of my top subjects! Writing papers and reading comprehension is probably my strongest area, I have recieved A's on college level research papers, narratives, and various types of essays. Excellent proofreader as well.

I have not tutored publicly before, but have tutored friends children/ family members for standardized tests such as the high school history and english statewide tests. I have tutored 5+ people in college algebra (all earning A's) as well as helped high school students with algebra. I am probably best at writing papers and reading comprehension type tasks.
