Math and Business Tutor

Open to what style works best for the student. I can teach directly through examples, check work that the client has completed, ensure preparation for any test is adequate, etc.
I have completed all College level Math classes for an Electical Engineering degree. Math is my area of expertise. I also have several other areas that I have tutored and been able to help students (see my course list). My experience includes 25 years of real world experience in the engineering and business fields which when balanced with my book based knowledge has allowed me to improve the tutoring experience by providing concrete, real world examples within several study areas.

I am a NJ state certified teacher in elementary and secondary education and recently completed my special education certification so that students requiring special educational accommodations can be properly recognized and taught. I love to share my knowledge and share my skills with others in a way to help them learn and grow. The way that I do this is by: 1) evaluate the child's skills, 2) acknowledge the child's skills and build his/her confidence as a stepping stone for future learning, 3) work to add to the current skills by adding to them. My greatest tutoring experience was teaching a mature adult man to read. I was able to improve his life by teaching him reading skills. His driving skills improved because he learned to read road signs. I also helped him build life skills such as learning how to write checks and balance his checkbook.
