Individualization is an important part of my teaching style. I think it is important to identify what the student needs to work on and present it in a way the student can grasp the concept and enjoy learning. The student has to enjoy learning to succeed. I try to present material in such a way that the student will find it interesting and use different techniques to help them remember what they have learned. I also use the pre-teaching/re-teaching strategy. The student doesn't feel overwhelmed with the newly presented material, more confident to participate in class, more willing to ask a question, and is more successful with class work and homework assignments.

I have always wanted students to really know the material being covered. This has meant keeping their interest through jovial yet concentrated lesson planning. I have always strived to make my students feel comfortable and to take on the responsibility for their own learning. Much too often Educators show students how to answer questions rather than helping the student learn how to handle new scenarios. This is the essence of my teaching: helping students see the big picture so that they can handle any new scenario. A Little Bit About Me...

I enjoy helping students of all ages learn. Education lays the groundwork for every goal that one aspires to in life. I love the English language and words. I feel that it is important for every student to come away with at least a basic understanding of how to write and speak. It will only help later in life. I love science because I have always asked 'how things work'. I am patient and enthusiastic. My energy and love of knowledge is contagious.
