Trained as an Chemical Engineer at the University of Missouri with emphasis on math,chemistry and statistics. I have been a substitute in middle and high school amounting to 2 years. I have trained in industrial venues and led training over 7 years in quality and manufacturing.

I am a recent graduate with a Masters in Accounting and also have a bachelors degree in business with a concentration in finance. I am passionate about the subjects of accounting and finance and as such during my time in college in frequently assisted or worked alongside fellow students in accomplishing course assignments related to both subjects. In addition to my strengths in these two subjects, I also have a strong mathematical background. I really enjoy tutoring. I love watching the students gain confidence as we work through the problems. I believe my attitude and approach to teaching helps the students. I provide enough understanding to the students but still challenge them. The worst thing you can do, is just give the answers. I believe everyone wants to learn and do their best, but it is hard when you do not understand what you are trying to do. I enjoy providing that one on one attention to open their minds and show them they can do it.

My first teaching experience was as a high school senior where I was given the opportunity to teach a small group of 5th graders as part of the Missouri A+ program. We began with division, quickly moving into linear and nonlinear algebra, before touching on the fundamentals of complex numbers, graph theory and trigonometry, before concluding with a derivation of the quadratic formula and its applications. A Little Bit About Me...

I especially enjoy working with students who want to learn, and I truly love math. I know that math concepts are especially difficult for many students to grasp. I feel confident in my approach to assist students in meeting and exceeding their goals. I am a patient, caring person, anxious to make a difference in the lives of my students.
For the past eight years I have worked in a mentor/tutor capacity with focus on mathematics, physics and astronomy. This experience has included college level, high school and middle school students. I enjoy seeing my "students" succeed. I will be graduating in May with a BS in Physics, a BS in Astronomy and a minor in mathematics.
