Believe in yourself, and you are half-way there!

I have a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a minor in Chemistry. I love being able to help students feel comfortable with the material they are studying. I have tutored numerous times throughout college, and would like to get back into tutoring students because I find it to be rewarding. As a student who went from living in Germany and being taught that there are many ways of getting the right answer, to moving to America where everything is taught in one way, I have learned to incorporate my tutoring skills to the need of each individual student. I try to figure out what works best for every individual and help them focus on their strength and improve their weaknesses.
My teaching style depends on the student. I am comfortable with trying different study methods in order to figure out why my student is having trouble with a particular subject.

Bio Chemistry is one of my top subjects! Practical experience in molecular biochemistry in graduate lab.

I took a variety of Biology classes and Labs at WPI mostly focused on Cell Biology and Molecular Genetics. I recently finished my PH.D. where I studied control of viral gene expression. This work encompassed a variety of biological disciplines including virology, cell biology, molecular biology, biochemistry, and molecular genetics, all of which I am quite experienced in. I also have experience teaching in a seminar format as well as in small groups. As a senior graduate student I was responsible for leading discussions prior to invited speaker seminars.
I believe that stimulating conversation and allowing people to arrive at answers on their own and through experience is the best way to form lasting connections.

I am teaching for understanding.
My studies have covered a wide range of topics in the various scientific and math areas. My research has provided me with the opportunity to draw connections between different methods and to communicate difficult concepts. My education and experience have provided me with valuable knowledge in the area of biomedical and clinical science. I graduate from high school with a double major in math and science and I have a bachelor’s degree in electronic engineering and master’s degree in biomedical engineering. As a teaching assistant I have gained valuable experience leading undergraduate discussion sections in math, science and engineering. In addition, I train summer students on specific research topics . I am also the first and the co-author of some research papers.
