Experience: My teaching experiences are diverse! I am a Certified MN Teacher in Health and Physical Education, but have been involved in various other content areas. I am enthusiastic about learning and willing to assist students with their learning goals! My experiences began at the Middle School level, teaching 8th grade Health. Next, I taught 6-8 grade Physical Education. Then I substitute taught in nearly every subject, grades 4-12. This past summer I taught a Wellness and Recreation class for a chemical dependency treatment program. For the last year, I have taught night school at an Alternative High School in Health and PE. I hold the personal belief that, “All children are special and learn differently. Each possesses the right and the ability to learn. It is my responsibility to ensure that all children receive the knowledge and tools necessary to reach their full potential.” I think learning needs to be presented in different ways for children to learn because I do not think there is one “right” way to learn. Since not all people learn the same, I try to make sure that I can think of fun, creative, and unique methods for presenting materials. A Little Bit About Me...

I attended the University of North Dakota for 4 years and in that time received a BA in Anthropology which has provided me the experience and knowledge of helping people in holistic ways. I now attend graduate school to obtain an MS in Applied Anthropology. Just about every semester I have written a 7-15 page research paper and have written several other essays, reports, and assignments in general. I have also done research for domestic violence organizations and helped teach college-level introduction courses.
Teaching is a wonderful experience! My teaching style is laid-back, I'd say. I like having conversations in order to determine how someone learns. A Little Bit About Me...

I began as a teacher's assistant in 1994 for 4 years before returning to earn my Bachelor's Degree in Ed. I obtained endorsements in high school math and reading. My teaching experience began at a school for girls who are court ordered to residential treatment for behaviors. Unfortunately, after over 8 years in this position, I was laid off. Since then I have been employed by Sylvan Learning Center, a tutoring facility where we work with student of various ages and abilities. We assist these students with reading, math (both beginning to high school levels), study skills and test prep. I have taught various levels of math - elementary through some college - reading, speech, computer applications, science, history, and English.
