My comments on tutoring Praxis Exam : Have taken the exam and passed on the first try.

Thirty-five years in teaching profession as teacher, assistant principal, principal, and teacher again. Worked with all grade levels and subjects in K-8 education. Also tutored during all of my years as educator. Highly qualified in Elementary Ed. and Middle School ELA based on SC certification and have certification not considered in at the highly qualified level in other middle school subjects, Reading Recover, and Gifted and Talented.

I spent my undergraduate career preparing to enter Veterinary School. I love the sciences and I thought this was what I wanted to do. After graduation, however, I discovered that this was not the path I was meant to take; I was meant to pass on my love of learning and teach. I entered the education system as a substitute and, after that year, I became a full time high school teacher. I received my Master's in Arts of Teaching while working with home-bound students and at the alternative school in that district. As a home-bound teacher, I taught a variety of subjects. Since my graduation in 2005, I have taught Biology 1, Biology 2, Anatomy & Physiology, Physical Science, and Genetics & Animal Behavior.

A Little Bit About Me...

With my Bachelor's degree, I began tutoring through Reading Success and conducted private tutoring of Georgia History. I progressed to teaching English, Spanish, and some Special Education Resource classes at the High School level, and continued to teach lower level English classes at a local college along with reading in an Adult Continuing Education program through another college. My writing skills have been sharpened as I edited and wrote articles for newsletters, newspaper releases, and in an administrative capacity.
I enjoy teaching and do my best to make learning fun and easy for my pupils. I approach lessons by letting the student realize how and why the lesson is important and how it relates to their lives. I firmly believe everyone can learn; the style in which they learn may differ from others, but given the correct approach, all teachers/tutors can be successful.
