I worked in the financial sector for 10 years and have a Master's Degree in Economics and Finance. My comments on tutoring World History : Experienced at the Middle and High School level.

I like to nurture my students without enabling them. I tend to ask my students pointed questions about the subject at hand to inspire critical thinking and push them to arrive at their own interpretation of the correct answer. I feel that this best prepares them for college-level work.
I graduated from Princeton University with a BA (cum laude) in History and will be starting a Ph.D. program in History in the fall. My comments on tutoring World History : I have a liberal arts degree in international studies and experience in the area.

Though my primary field is sociology, I am versed in Liberal Arts due to my experience and background. I have worked with kids who need to keep moving while they learn, to kids who need complete quiet. Some kids are more visual learners; others need to act the lesson out, while others do fine quietly reading. The important thing is to make it interesting so they WANT to learn. Older kids with a higher level of maturity don't require as entertaining a lesson. They want to see how to apply what they are learning to their life.
