During my years as an undergraduate English major, I was drawn to the world of teaching and tutoring through two part-time positions, including one on-campus, with college-aged students, and one with elementary to high school-aged students. I loved seeing my students' pleasure at learning how to comprehend the words they read, to assimilate that information into an in-depth college essay, to finally grasp that one bit of knowledge that so alluded them. I think kids are great. The time I spend coaching a group of teenagers energizes me. I find the key to each child’s personality and try to connect with them individually.
