As a private teacher of violin and piano for four years, I enjoy helping students grow in their musical abilities. I have students from ages four to fifty two. I have a minor in music from the University of Nevada Reno. During my schooling at the university I received education in teaching development, music theory, sight singing, and music history. I also experienced performing in the University Orchestra, and taking private lessons both piano and violin from professional musicians. I love teaching and working with children and also adults. I am patient, considerate, and understanding but I know when to give my students challenges to help them progress in their musical abilities. I love teaching kids. All kids can are different in the way they learn. you need to be able to recognize those kids who are auditory learners, and hands on learners and be able to make a good balance of both so both kids may benefit. I like to set goals for each tutor session weather it be something like learning the alphabet or knowing you first ten multiplication facts. You then need to set one long term goal for that child to reach. this way each day they feel as if they have succeeded and learned something.
