Literacy instructor for over 10 years.

I have taught all aspects of literacy since 2003. This includes reading, writing, grammar, phonics, spelling, and handwriting. I was an Early Literacy teacher for two years and a Title I teacher for three years. In addition, I have taught preschool children and middle school children. My last three years of teaching directly were in a second grade classroom. I have abundant experience in assessing reading skills and abilities and determining students' reading levels.

Love watching children learn and grow!

I use a variety of teaching styles and methods to reach students because I know that all students are different and learn better with different methods. I try to find creative ways to reach students to try to make learning as engaging and meaningful as possible.
I graduated from East Carolina University with a B.S. in Elementary Education (K-6) as well as Reading Certification (K-12). I did an internship in 1st grade as well as taught some in 2nd and 3rd grade. I know that each child is different and that I must differentiate my teaching methods in order to reach all children. Elementary Grammar is one of my top subjects!

Throughout college I tutored elementary students for a tutoring company that worked with students in an urban district in Pennsylvania. My tutoring experiences are in K-1 and grade 3. I graduated from Kutztown University of Pennsylvania in 2013 with a degree in elementary education. I moved to North Carolina from Pennsylvania in 2013 to pursue my career in teaching. I have been tutoring since I was in high school. Between that and teaching Sunday School and Children's Church, I have more than ten years of experience. I have tutored children whose ages range from elementary school to high school. I have also tutored adults to help with college classes and help prepare for GED tests. I teach the Bible to children whose ages range from newborn to eight years.
