Chess: My teaching of chess can either start with the basics of the game or with in-depth tactics and strategies. I am a proponent of the romantic school of chess and focus on studying the old masters of the game. Violin: I will be teaching classical violin but practice will be integrated with folk music. My teaching style is prescriptive, student based. I teach based on how the particular student can grasp and understand what is being taught because students have their own methods and mental tools to open themselves to what is being taught, so that they learn. I have earned a bachelors degree in Chemistry from East Tennessee State University. I enjoy teaching math because its something you use in every day life. When it comes to math, I am easy going and patient because I know how stressful math can be if you are struggling with it.
