I'm a chemical engineer and tutor with a strong interest in education. My background includes extensive tutoring and mentoring experience over the last 8 years. I am motivated and patient with students who have trouble grasping mathematical concepts. I have worked with diverse groups of students ranging from third grade to high school and college students. My engineering experience gives me a wealth of applications from which to draw examples and explain how equations work.

I am currently enrolled in the graduate engineering program at the University of Florida, in which I plan to graduate in the spring of 2012. I enjoy working with people and I have a strong background in numerical analysis. I have taken the GRE, ACT, and the SAT. Scores were high above the national average for math and at about the average for the written portion. I graduated from the University of Florida with a bachelors degree in Neuroscience. This degree has allowed me to achieve a great understanding of the sciences. I have taken math classes up to Calculus 2 and a variety of science classes. In addition to this, I wrote my own thesis paper for a neuroscience laboratory that I worked in for two and a half years. This improved my writing skills, lab skills, and critical thinking skills immensely. In high school, I tutored after school calculus for a year while in college, I have tutored fellow peers in science and math classes in which they had difficulty.

I dont have a lot of experience with teaching children in a classroom environment, but I have a 5 year old, that I have to constantly teach different things besides what he learns at school.I have experience training physicians in a complex electronic medical records environment. I had so much fun with this project at the facility I worked with.
