I taught high school English for three years. My students ranged from far below basic to advanced. My students consistently showed improvement in their standardized test scores and over 95% of my students passed the course. Also, Over 95% of my sophomore passed the CAHSEE. In addition to my high school experience, I have been tutoring adult learners for the past three years, becoming the program manager two years ago. I am a former social worker, "turned teacher". I returned to school in 1998 to "recycle myself" and finished an M.A. in 2000. I did not continue, to become a fully credentialed teacher. I have had 8 years + experience as a substitute teacher, in high school, middle school and elementary school. High school was a favorite, but now I find that elementary students (1st thru 5th) are more accepting of my "grandma-like" appearance.
