I love the learning process. Few things in life are as rewarding as teaching and learning. Stylistically, I would consider myself to a patient and passionate, yet challenging teacher. I try to understand the learning style of each person and try to direct my efforts in ways that are conducive to each individual's learning style. I have been in the field of education for approximately 14 years of which the last 8 years have been special education. I have worked with students of all ages, on all skill levels and many with learning disabilities through 8th grade. I was a high school art teacher for two years and I worked in a college library for four years. I am able and willing to work with students of all ages. My emphasis has been the field of language arts; however, I taught middle school math for students with learning disabilities for two years. I am capable of assessing student's skill levels in both math and language arts. I feel that this is a strength.
