A Little Bit About Me...

Even before I went to college and earned my B.A., I had already taught two years of ESL in Kachin State, Burma. I came back to the US and earned my degree in East Asian Studies at Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana. A few months after I graduated I went to the People's Republic of China and taught English as a Second Language from 2003 through 2006. In addition, I have completed all coursework for my M.A. in General Education, however, I have not finished the degree which requires student teaching. A Little Bit About Me...

I believe a large part of teaching is to find ways of motivating students to learn. I like to show my students how what they are learning applies to their everyday lives. I was raised in a family of teachers. Both my parents have been teachers, and my older brother and sister are both currently teachers. As an psychiatric technician at Napa State Hospital, I was chosen to become a trainer, teaching a new computer system being implemented to nursing and other staff throughout the hospital. I developed classes and created lesson plans for those classes, as well as providing individual training. I held this position for 2 years.
