Reading Comprehension Tutor Seeks New Learners!

I believe in working closely with parents,guardians and students. I meet the student where there are and assist and support them in understanding the subject. Reading Comprehension is a new skill of mine and I have two years of experience in the field. I also am very familiar with the Commom Core Objectives in the NC Schools and believe that they assist a student in understanding subjects better.
I have over thirty years of experience in the field of both Elementary and Secondary Education. I have taught in several Elementary and Secondary schools and also as a Public Historical Interpreter in a major museum here in North Carolina. Currently I am an experienced Reading Comprehension Tutor at an award winning elementary school located in Western North Carolina.

I am patient but firm. In order to be a success in the business world, one must be able to write and speak the English language correctly. If the student knows English, everything else in general business can be taught. Thus, in a tutoring environment, I try to make learning fun and make a game out of speaking and writing proper English. I believe that every child can learn even those that are handicapped. My mother was a specialist in teaching trainable children and got them jobs after graduation. Being around children with IQ's around 60 gave me special insight and understanding.
I have 35 years experience in Bell System Management retiring as Operations Manager of Outstate Georgia. A Little Bit About Me...

I went to Ohio State in Art, then graduated at Ohio U. I taught 14 years in Florida and Ohio , grades 1 through 12; all subjects. I taught using primarily Art and music. My areas of expertise are Reading, Literature, English, and the arts. I have acted in Little Theatre, choreographed, and taught Drama in High School and in College. I had just started tutoring at A to Z Tutoring in Florida but in 2007 I moved back to North Carolina. I substituted many years in North Carolina and taught in High School and some Elementary.
I have always thought of myself as a progressive teacher. I always thought children could learn to do anything they were asked to do.
