Helping students to Become Life Long Learners

I have worked with many different ages of children as a tutor and volunteer. I worked for the America Reads program at IUPUI while I was working on my degree. I was a reading coach and was in charge of working with elementary students that struggled with reading and comprehension. I also volunteered as a reading coach for the HOSTS program at Garden City Elementary School. My comments on tutoring Writing : Trained in Six Traits of Writing program for Middle School grades but feel I an tutor younger students with writing.

I am a retired Special Education teacher. I was employed by Madison Consolidated Schools until this past June. The first 24 years of teaching was in an elementary school with experience in grades 1 - 6. I then moved to the Junior High School for the last nine years of my career. I spent the majority of these years with 6th grade students teaching math and Language Arts.
