After receiving my Ed.D in Curriculum and Leadership, I decided to stay in the classroom. I currently instruct 4th and 5th grade students in Social Studies, Science and Math. I have taught Math to elementary students for the past 10 years. I believe that every student can learn, however each student is unique in that they learn differently. At the moment, my experience is admittedly limited. I graduated with a History degree from UGA. I was a substitute teacher at Savannah Country Day School during the entire 2006-2007 school year. Since then I have enjoyed a career in sales, which I have enjoyed immensely. Both of my parents are teachers, and I hope to find a full time position for the 11-12 school year. Until then, I hope I can help as many students as possible as a tutor. My areas of expertise include military history, from ancient Greece to modern conflicts. I read passionately in my spare time. While attending Columbus State University, I volunteered by tutoring 2nd through 6th graders at the local Columbus Community Center. During which I also maintained a 3.00 GPA and graduated with a B.A. in Finance. While in college I found math to be my best subject and the area seemed to come to me as though it was second hand nature. In college, my degree required classes such as college algebra, statistics, quanitative analyze, intermediate accounting and financial analyze. A Little Bit About Me...

While planning for a career in medicine, I obtained a BS in biology with a minor in Chemistry. During the application and acceptance process I was an adjunct faculty member at a local technical college. My courses taught were remedial Algebra, biology, and anatomy and physiology. During the hours between classes I was a paid Tutor in the college's learning assistance center.
I wouldn't have a "professional" description for teaching style as my education was solidly based in the sciences. However, I believe that by teaching intuitive thought processes and critical thinking skills, students can easily adapt to the tasks given be they in science or liberal arts.
