When I tutor I try and understand where they are having trouble and try to find the best way of explaining in a way that is beneficial to the student.
While at Springfield College I started tutoring some of my fellow students in the areas of math and science for a little extra cash. I have always wanted to mimic the kind of tutoring I received as a struggling math student in middle school. I was never the best at math until I started to receive tutoring and everything started to click. The extra help I got in math was essential to my studies at the university level and all my previous coursework leading up. I want to be that tutor who helped everything click.

I am a natural teacher - it's what I do when I'm not getting paid. I just like to share knowledge of what, why, when, where, and how. I like the process of learning, and it is a privilege to get to witness, or even positively influence, that process in someone else. I have been paid for my teaching skills for the past 9 years, in various settings, including piano instruction, guitar instruction, tutoring at the Community College in Chemistry, Biology, and Microbiology, as well as assist teaching for the Decatur Public School District. For the first two years I was a chemistry major and my science coursework included botany, geology, and astronomy. Furthermore, my non-math and science electives were focused on ancient Greek philosophy, society, and recreation.
