I attended ECSU and majored in their writing program all of my time their, i also gained a minor in creative writing as well as a minor in sociology. while at ECSU i studied poetry with Dr. Daniel Donaghy and creative writing with a number of professors. i was published in "Eastern Exposure" ECSU's writing journal in 2011 and 2012.

My comments on tutoring Guitar : I have 20 years experience working with students from beginner to advanced. Adult students are welcome.

I make sure each student receives a real music education and becomes comfortable with a music theory foundation, I expose all students to reading and encourage them to become good readers, which will set them apart from many guitar players out there. A good portion of the lessons focus on repertoire, with the student choosing the majority of the material.
I have about 20 years of one-on-one teaching experience working with all types of aspiring guitarists. I have been playing for 30 years, and have performed close to one thousand times in various small jazz groups, both as a leader and a sideman. I have also sustained original rock projects and played in large ensembles. I have produced large scale concert events and handled the booking for several music venues.

I have worked in the educational field for 25 plus years now. My first experience in the profession was in the mid-80's as a private tutor for junior high and high school students. I was also hired by my town and a neighboring town to provide homebound instruction. Subject areas I was responsible for included social sciences, American and world history, mathematics and English. I greatly enjoy finding a way to inspire a child to understand the problem at hand. Through from my experience in grade school and my observation of students that attend tough schools I've realized the monotonous class schedule and disciplinary philosophy of most schools deflates most student's desire to succeed. While I can relate to this rebellious reaction I also know that it is no excuse for not trying very hard in school because the main path to success as a young adult is a high school diploma with excellent grades.
