Dancer/Choreographer/Teacher

I have been teaching dance for the past nine years in styles of ballet, pointe, jazz, contemporary, lyrical, jazz, hip hop, modern, and tap. I have worked at various studios, camps, elementary school programs, youth companies, high school dance teams, and have taught private lessons to students ages 10-adult in and around the bucks county area. I believe teaching others a skill or new information is a gift, to both myself and the student. When the light goes off in their head, and the "I got it!" look comes across their face, I feel a sense of accomplishment. I am very patient, and understand that each student learns at their own speed. Additionally, I know that each student is different, which will sometimes require a new teaching technique. A Little Bit About Me...

I like to see how much of what they are learning they currently understand and use that to help them put the rest of the pieces together. I learn from them how they learn and do my best to assist them in that way. Repetition and visual aids are usually the way I approach tutoring otherwise. I think helping them see what we are doing and the progress they have made through repeated exercises reinforces what they know and helps them retain better that they do not.
I was introduced to spanish at the age of 4, and after having structured training in a classroom which began in middle school, I have almost 14 years of spanish under my belt. I have learned the basics, studied literature and studied abroad in Mexico where I used my spanish during volunteer work at an orphanage when I was not in class.
