A Little Bit About Me...

I have a BA in History/English from the University of Mississippi. I have been a teacher for the past year in Tate County Mississippi. This experience has allowed me to develop a teaching style to reach all types of learners. I have also been a tutor in English on a senior level. I have training with children of all learning styles. One of my students was also ADD/ADHD. I have achieved and maintained a 3.0 in all English and History courses at the college level. I have been operating the bookeeping and business side of a volunteer organization for the last three years. I have also served as a student worker for a business professor at MUW which exposed me to many areas of business and computer technology.

I am able to devise a teaching strategy based on the individual's needs. I am adept at taking abstract ideas and placing them into a real world setting. I am patient and understanding. I will cater my teaching to meet a child's needs. I believe that all children have a willingness and capacity to learn and at times they may just get lost in the system.
I have a BS in biology, however I have a passion for teaching. In 2006, I was a Teach Tennessee fellow. This program's intent is to fast track degreed professionals into an education career. I spent some time teaching in the public school system. I had to resign my postion, due to family a family situation. I continued my work as a substitute teacher. I love working with students and appreciate the moment when they finally understand a concept with which they have struggled.
