A Little Bit About Me...

I believe in a pretty simple rule; repeat, repeat, repeat. Learning math and physics through example is the best way. Repeating these examples is a sure way to success. They student may not like math or physics, but once they start to do well in it they'll come to love it.
During my studies at SUNY Buffalo I tutored in Regents Math which I also took when I was in high school. In Virginia Tech I was a Graduate Research Assistant. I ran Aerospace Engineering labs, assigning work to undergraduate students which I graded. I was available for multiple hours per week assisting students in their homework and lab reports. Since then I have been a math tutor in calculus. Engineering requires a solid understanding of math from the basics such as algebra and geometry to more difficult calculus and linear algebra. I have enjoyed teaching people from 10 to 60+ years of age for the past 40 years.I pride myself as being patient and considerate. I attempt to present the subject material in a real world context so that the student is more likely to find significance in the subject. I treat all students as individuals with unique needs and abilities. My goal is to make them want to learn.
I have taught Rudimental Percussion performance to individuals, high school bands and drum and bugle corps since 1969. I and my groups hold many state, one national and two World Championships. I graduated with a BS Chem. as the American Chemical Societies Senior of the year, with honors, from N.U.I subsequently worked for 15 years in Environmental Chemistry and for ten years in Industrial Analytical Chemistry where I developed several unique analytical methods that are currently in wide use.Although I have li ... read more
