I began tutoring K through 5th graders at an elementary school. Many of my students only spoke Spanish at home. From then, I continued tutoring elementary school students with a wide range of abilities. A few of my students were gifted, and we worked on sharpening their already existing skills. Many of my students struggled in a specific area, and we were able to incorporate general study skills into our lessons. I was able to help all of my students with book reports and other projects that were more time consuming than regular homework assignments. I currently hold a bachelor's degree from Rutgers University in Sociology. My major gpa was a 3.4 and I graduated from Rutgers College in New Brunwick which when I attended was the toughest school to get into within the Rutgers University system. It's true that every student learns at a different pace with a different style. I like to see myself as a cameleon teacher, catering my format to individual needs.
