Depending on the course and student, I vary my teaching style from the Socratic Method (with a lot of questions and answers between the student and me), as well as utilizing real world examples to reinforce concepts. Finally, I strive to move from the basics of a concept, to intermediate types of problems, and build to advanced level. By doing so, I focus on the student's increasing confidence to tackle tough problems.

My comments on tutoring Resume Writing : Great resume writer. I write resumes for all my friends. I have no formal training. I am just intuitive and creative.

I like to involve the students in exercises instead of passively instruct. I prefer to relate lessons to things that are happening in real life, or issues that conjure significant emotion or stimulate debate. Good creative writing is all about the ability to transfer strong feelings from the writer to the reader. To make them feel what you feel or felt.
I taught Communications 101 to 20 "lifers" at San Quentin Prison as part of the Prison University Project. Some of these men had not been in a classroom in 20 years. I've also spent three years on the Advertising Review Committee for the California Chapter of the American Lung Association vetting all adverting, marketing and PR messaging for the marketplace. I have a diverse field of experience. I received a dual B.A. in Linguistics and Anthropology in 2006. This allows me to understand language tutoring at a deeper level than most tutors. This foundation has been augmented by 5 years of teaching experience in ESOL, History, Academic Writing, and Professional interview training which I have conducted all over the world. In 2009, I received my MA in applied linguistics. This degree worked as a capstone to perfect my teaching style in regards to ESL.
