I have 4 years of elementary library aide experience, a small one on one group to help them to excel in reading, pinpointing areas of weakness and strengths, helping young readers succeed in comprehensive reading. For older students I use a type of Socratic method where instead of answering questions for them, I work with students by requiring them to answer questions so they can lead themselves to the right answer. My experience in the teaching field has been primarily as a substitute on a daily basis. I have some long-term sub assignments in my resume as well. For the past 7 years I have limited my assignments to "Home/Hospital". I meet 5 hours per week with each student to provide complete instruction in all subject areas for the student(s) unable to be in the regular classroom setting due to illness.
