I have always thought of myself as a progressive teacher. I always thought children could learn to do anything they were asked to do. I always loved learning and felt it was my obligation to instill the same in all my students, no matter what age. I feel all students are influenced by the use of art and music to learn and that is what I use. I know I can make a difference in each child and give them a healthy learning environment. I will teach them to the best of my ability and help them reach their full potential.
I went to Ohio State in Art, then graduated at Ohio U. I taught 14 years in Florida and Ohio , grades 1 through 12; all subjects. I taught using primarily Art and music. While working on my undergrad I was given the opportunity to be a teaching assistant for a freshman college level film theory and design class. During this opportunity I was responsible for grading the daily work of our students, as well as being a resource for the students design projects. I taught lectures based on film theory and design, as well as specific pieces of film.
I myself am a visual and auditory learner, so I am very open to all types of teaching styles. I find that people learn better when several avenues of learning are available for a subject. I love working with and teaching children of all ages. I believe that each child is unique and is capable of learning in his or her own unique way.
