I have a way of perceiving the difficulty the student has, and am able to explain the material in a simple way that makes it easy for students to grasp. I have a good rapport with my student and have had several that have told me that I am the best teacher they have ever had(which didn't hurt my ego!!) With my high school students, I will introduce a new lesson or concept, model how to comprehend it, work with them on a few examples, and then allow them independent practice to work alone. Ten years helping adults pass the GED in Jefferson CIty, Missouri, Also taught American history there for two summers. Some substitute teaching over a dozen years. Four years nine months experirnce teaching felons to pass the GED in a level five correctional facility, part time, after working an eight hour shift in a chemical lad.
