I currently teach 7-12 grade English and Creative Writing in Fremont, Ohio. I am prepared to help your student or child with Grammar, Literature, Writing, Poetry, Shakespearean Literature, Reading Comprehension, etc. I have a passion for teaching and a passion for English. In 2005 I began a part time job as an Adult Education instructor for Sentinel Career Center where my primary focus was language arts/writing. I was part of the STAR reading program where I became certified to teach adults to read. A Little Bit About Me...

During the last eleven years, I have tutored students ranging from kindergarten to college level. I have learned extensive grammatical skills as an English Literature Major at the University of Texas. I graduated with a BA in English in 2007. During my undergrad work, I was a preschool teacher. I am currently affiliated with a nationwide adult literacy program, Project Read. I am trained in reading strategies such as; strengthening vocabulary for adult and adolescent readers, reading comprehension techniques, and composition. I am now studying classical 19th century French Literature.
I have partnered with Verizon Thinkfinity to bring you teaching and learning material. I tutor from state specific standards. For example, I provide interactive games younger students can play in pairs or individually. For older students my resources are interesting and varied to meet their needs.

A Little Bit About Me...

The 2009-2010 school year will be my third year as a substitute teacher. I have worked with all levels of students, from special needs elementary to AP high school courses, and in both urban and suburban districts. I had some training as an educator in college but have lots of real world experience as well. I have a deep understanding of research strategies and love all of the social sciences. I also am a parent to a third grader who recently tested into her school's gifted program and have plenty of experience supplementing curriculum to encourage the accelerated learner.
I believe that no two students learn alike and the most important thing is to make sure students are having fun with learning.
