A Little Bit About Me...

I have been a working graphic designer for most of my life after graduation from Ohio State. After 12 years of design I was asked to participate in an art and education program at Chicago Public Schools Autism Program. I was hired on the spot and then continued with education by obtaining a masters degree in special education in Tempe Arizona. In Arizona I was assigned as an inclusion teacher for 9, 10 11th grade English. I had to accommodate diverse learners and plan instruction. I have partnered with Verizon Thinkfinity to bring you teaching and learning material. I tutor from state specific standards. For example, I provide interactive games younger students can play in pairs or individually. For older students my resources are interesting and varied to meet their needs.
During the last eleven years, I have tutored students ranging from kindergarten to college level. I have learned extensive grammatical skills as an English Literature Major at the University of Texas. I graduated with a BA in English in 2007. During my undergrad work, I was a preschool teacher. I believe that no two students learn alike and the most important thing is to make sure students are having fun with learning. If learning is looked at as boring or hard students will try to avoid it, when learning is fun students learn without realising the work involved.
