If the student does not understand the concept I will approach it using a different method. I want all students to feel successful at math. I teach 7th grade remedial and general math. I work students at risk of not passing, and I work very hard to break down math concepts. I believe it is so important to find a way to make each student understand a concept. I do not teach "just one way", but find the method that turns my students'lightbulb on. Before this position I taught middle school math to students with learning disabilities at the same school. It's about what the student understands best and helping them utilize what is easiest for them to work with. I tutor my classmates who were challenged by the courses that we were studying.
