Since graduating from the University of Washington (with honors) in 2001 I have worked extensively in the field of finance. Initially I worked for one of the largest mutual life insurance companies as a product developer, focusing on loss prevention and hedging. After joining a regional Investment Advisory firm I helped develop a two tiered investment platform, focusing on both cash flow analysis and sector rotation strategies. Born and raised in Hong Kong, I was very driven to excel in education. Success in higher education is the key to opportunities in such a competitive city. As the oldest child in the family, I had been tutoring my younger siblings at a very young age. I started private tutoring since high school to support my own education. This formal and informal tutoring experience enabled me to succeed later in my college years as a teaching assistant and a graduate assistant. I have earned two degrees, a MBA and a BA in accounting / financial management. I have tutored students from elementary school to college level in mathematics, accounting, counseling and business. I am fluent in English and Chinese (Cantonese).

Prior to earning my business degree I was a certified secondary education teacher and was employed as a substitute teacher while I earned my business degree. After earning my business degree I worked for a national public accounting and consulting firm as a Consulting Manager. I then became a Financial Analyst and have worked for several prominent Portland corporations for the past 13 years. I have strong accounting and financial skills including advanced excel computer skills.
