Piano is one of my top subjects!

Over 20 years of teaching experience as a school music teacher, private piano and theory instructor, and conductor for church and community choirs. I work to make every students meet her goals, thus, each lesson is designed to particular student. I accept students age of 5 up to 70. I guarantee each student to be able to play piano for less than six months. My lessons include also general musicianship as I teach about greatest composers, style, performers, and theory. I always aim for rich musical experience during the lesson. Often, I recommend CDs or DVDs for students, and advise on concert going.
I teach classical piano, so my students work on scales, arpeggios and etudes to quickly enhance their technique. My pre-medical school coursework allowed me to gain conceptual and hands-on understanding in the areas of inorganic chemistry, organic chemistry, physics, and biology. In addition to my scientific training, I enrolled in the Honors program with a concentration on Western Civilization. The curriculum that the Honors program offered took me through the writings of Homer to the films of Roman Polanski. I have gained extensive experience writing research papers, laboratory reports, book reviews, memoirs, fictional stories, and analytical critiques. A Little Bit About Me...

After four years in university, I had travelled abroad, presented two recitals, accompanied numerous musicians, performed in 6 ensembles, been published, and received a Teaching Assistantship, along with receiving my Honors BA in German and Honors BM in Vocal Performance with a minor in Piano. I have extensive tutoring experience in Music, German, Writing Composition, and Public Speaking. My students have been honored state and nation-wide in music and speech. Currently, my interests have broadened into publications and I have a book on remixing education. I began working with children at the age of sixteen. I started my own business in Missouri, and am hoping to continue my work tutoring during my transition to Champaign/Urbana.
