A Little Bit About Me...

I have been a teacher for 15 years in East St. Louis, Il School District 189. Over those years I have taught 1st grade for two years, and Middle School Grades 6-8 Language Arts, Reading, and Social Studies. I have also served as a Homebound Instructor for Elementary, Middle School, and High School Students for 3 years. In addition I have served as an after school tutor for 4 years with the YMCA and Sylvan Learning Center. I was basketball coach for 2 years for 4th and 5th grade students previously. Finally I served as the Chairman over the Real Men Read Program at Lincoln Middle School for 4 years.

A Little Bit About Me...

My goal is to help children in any context that I can. Although I have my sights set on being a pediatric neurologist, my vision encompasses more than this end. I have worked with children from ages 3 to 16 starting from the time that I was a sophomore in high school to the present. I have served a diverse array of roles, such as summer camp counselor, patient care associate at St. Louis Children's Hospital, and a mathematics teacher at an inner city school in St. Louis. During my senior year at Kalamazoo College I tutored in the Law School Admissions Test (LSAT), as well as designing the curriculum for and delivering a free class in the same topic. I graduated as the top Philosophy student in my class after serving as an Honors Teaching Assistant in Philosophy of Law, and then continued on to undergo summer training with Teach For America.
