Working in education since 2006 with ages 6 weeks to 18 years. I have student teaching experience from kindergarten thru 12th grade. I have substitute taught for kindergarten thru 12th grade as well. Taught ESL for more than twenty-five years across Canada and internationally. Lived and taught in Japan, Mexico, Philippines, Costa Rica and United States. I was a teacher-trainer for Oxford Seminars, where I taught teacher-candidates how to teach ESL for international classrooms. I was responsible for instructing and then certifying teacher-candidates. I am a life-long artist, graduated from Laguna Beach High School, which was at the time a fine-art and performance school. I have always had a knack for the sciences and left the Midwest to follow my love of Marine Biology. While in school, I revisted my interest in the arts (painting, piano, and animation). It was then I realized I was passionate about so many topics and didn't want to limit myself to one thing! I've worked with kids throughout my entire life, whether I was teaching swim lessons, piano lessons, or tutoring. I took Spanish for 4 years in High School use it every chance I get. I completed my semester of student teaching at Center High School in Kansas City in December 2002. Upon graduation I joined AmeriCorps. During my second year of service I developed and taught a variety of subjects related to public safety and service in St. Louis City elementary and middle schools after school programs. I have also worked as a camp counselor in Maine and volunteer coach girls softball in my community. In addition to coaching and teaching school age students I also instructed Community Education classes for adults in First Aid/CPR and Disaster Response Preparedness.
