I graduated from California State University at San Francisco. While there I mastered my major of accounting as well as my minor in economics. I have over ten years' experience in all facets of accounting, audit and taxation. I have always been an exceptional mathematics student and my chosen field has enabled me to remain very strong in this area. I spent one year tutoring accounting students who had difficulty grasping the basic concepts of accounting. I was able to explain the accounting concepts in different wording than the text books and I also created a "cheat" sheet to help them understand how to handle different accounting transactions. The students I tutored always improved their grades dramatically and quickly. This gave me immense satisfaction! I always strive to make a difference in students' lives.
A Little Bit About Me...
The last twenty years of my full time teaching experience was in elementary gifted education. I currently serve as an adjunct math instructor at Fox Valley Technical College. I would feel most comfortable tutoring any elementary subject and some secondary math courses. I truly enjoy teaching and working with students to help them learn. I am open to using any method or style that is effective for individual students, which is what I do as an educator.
